Thanks for hosting, Lucy, and hope you have a good gardening year in 2015

Hello Lucy,

Happy new year.

Since I started following the apple tree in August I'll keep on follwing it for at least a full year.

Hiya Lucy - a last look at my downy birch this month, for a new year round up. I'm going to be changing for next time, though I'm not quite sure exactly what to...

Happy New Year Lucy. I hope 2015 is a good one for you and yours.

I'll be continuing with my ash tree for 2015, though I won't be posting for a while as nothing much happens with a tree stump. When it starts to regenerate, or the rot sets in visibly, that's the time to start posting again.

Hi Lucy, I've just added my link. I'm joining in for the first time.

Lucy, glad to join you for tree following, such a great idea. I had a hard time choosing a tree, but ended up choosing our endangered Butternut in the back yard. Look forward to checking out trees around the world!

After months of searching for good things to say about my corkscrew hazel, I've switched trees. Big relief. In 2015 I'll be following a basswood, tilia americana, a tree I see from my kitchen window, and one I dearly love. Happy following to all!

Hi Lucy have put a round up of my Apple tree, nice to look back and see it full of blossom. I will be changing my tree for February to a Larch tree I think, but will be keeping one eye on the Apple through out the year.

Thank you Lucy for hosting again this year - one of the highlights of blogging for me! Have left my Hornbeam for Tilias - plurality and detective work will be on the agenda - hence the tree stalking quip!

Thanks so much for hosting. I'm a first-timer and look forward to following my tree!

Just a brief look at my tree in the midst of a larger post.

Hello Lucy! Just letting you know I have decided to join you in your tree following this year. You can add me to your list. I live in San Diego, California. Looking forward to the year ahead.

Thanks again for the wonderful project and your support for us all. I have been a bit confused by the nature of a "year", but I think I understand now.
I had assumed we didn't start following a tree until just before Spring, as nothing much was happening, but I also thought we gave up at the end of the calendar year.
Not to worry. I am happy I have done a round-up of my hornbeam and although I will no doubt revisit, I am now going to spend January deciding on my next tree. So many to choose from!
All the best to everyone :)

Hello Cathy - it's a pleasure to act as 'base' for Tree Following. I do hope you have a happy year in your garden too.

Hello Erika. I'm glad you will be carrying on with your apple tree through to August. To watch it for a full year will, I'm sure, be rewarding. The next couple of months will be really interesting. Even in winter there's much to see on a tree. It's just a matter of looking!

Hello Beangenie. Those who are choosing to re-start their year in January / February will have a truly interesting challenge. Either you will be choosing a tree you are already fond of - or taking a stab in the dark and seeing what will happen. A mystery!

Hello VP. Your ash may not be growing . . . but what about the insects which will be interested in it . . . maybe plants which wouldn't have grown in its shade but which are now taking their chance . . . ?

Hello Eileen. I've put you down for a Silver Birch. Pleased you have joined us. No need to have hesitated. Several of us didn't know what our trees were when we started. (Me included! Indeed, I've only just found out!)
Please would you let me know what you would like to be entered as your location on the Loose and Leafy Tree Following page?
http://looseandleafy.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-is-tree-following-and-list-of-tree.html

Hello Hollis. You certainly seem to have 'bonded' with your tree. Enormous detail and fascinating posts.

Happy New Year, Lucy. I'm carrying on with my Silver Birch at present ... who knows, though, where this may lead once I have done twelve posts! Thank you for your continued hosting. It's good to see some new trees (well, Tree Followers) arriving ...

Okay, I might have changed one word in the lyrics, but I supplied a link where you can actually hear The Mamas And The Papas sing "California Dreaming," a song that you'll appreciate for this time of year and you'll remember if you're old enough. Thanks Lucy for the Tree Following blog. It has challenged me to find out more about my tree than I would ever have done on my own.

I'm joining for the first time Lucy.
Thanks for hosting and I look forward to joining in over the next year.

I'm joining in for the first time and have chosen 2 trees as they are so different and it was difficult to pick. One is an oak and I hope someone can help me identify the other tree as I'm not sure what it is without leaves to help.
Thanks for hosting this and I look forward to joining in!

Great project Lucy even if my contributions were a bit sporadic. I have learnt so much about the Horse Chestnut. Love and admire it even more and will never look at them in quite the same light. Will be continuing and will let you know which tree I have chosen later this month.

Hello Cathy. The 'nothing happening' is part of the happening!

Alison - Never have so many waited with baited breath to know whether a tree will fruit with one quince or two.

Hello Furry Gnome. I had not come across a Butternut tree before you chose it to follow!

Pat - I hope you enjoy this year's tree following more than last. You need a medal for sticking it out so long with a tree you didn't like!

Hello Amanda. I went to the Loose and Leafy Tree Following Page ( http://tinyurl.com/bv6pzt5 ) to note your new tree might be a Larch and find we have no location for you. What shall I put?

Hello Laura - Tilias here we come! (It would be good if you had one among them as the 'main' point of interest - illuminated by comparison with the others? ? ? ? ? ?)

Hello Anna. One of the surprising things about your blog is its name! So pleased you are joining us.

Hi Donna. You post about so many things! It's set to be a bit of a year for Linden watching.

Welcome Sara. I can see from your comments around the blogs that you are joining Tree Following with gusto. Hurray!

Hello Lucy,

I think this is a great idea! I got inspired now by offtheedgegardening, so I decided I will follow a tree as well. I even know what to choose - Cercis canadensis, the redbud!
Do I have to publish a post on my blog?

Hello Everyone. Still catching up with posts and comments. So many! What a pleasure!

Amanda - I do apologise - but I seem to have lost your location on the Tree Following page. I'm a shining example of inefficiency. (Might as well shine at something!) Would you tell me again what to put to say where you are?

Hi Lucy, tree following page is...

And I will be following a Yew tree.
Thanks Amanda xx
